Long Jetty – House 1

A unique opportunity to reimagine coastal living… twice!

This dual occupancy project on the Central Coast saw us collaborate with Kyal&Kara to design two distinct outdoor spaces for neighbouring beach homes. Built on mirrored footprints, the homes share a structure but differ completely in mood and atmosphere.

Our challenge was to mirror the interiors—each carefully designed by Kyal&Kara—through customised, site-specific landscapes. The result is a powerful reminder of how design can transform space, evoke emotion, and shape experience.

House 1 | Clean. Linear. Coastal chic.
Inspired by French coastal influences, the interiors of House 1 are light, bright, and breezy, with a refined palette and considered simplicity. Our landscape design echoes this, drawing inspiration from the interior’s clean lines and minimalist aesthetic.

• A geometric pool anchors the space with a bold structure
• Hardscaping elements create rhythm and order, reinforcing the home’s architectural clarity
• Soft planting adds warmth and texture, bringing balance to the strong forms
• The palette is restrained yet rich, allowing light and shadow to play across the surface throughout the day

The overall feeling is calm, clear, and elevated—a space that reflects the elegance of its interior while offering its own identity outdoors.

Two homes. One site. Infinite potential.
This project presented us with a rare opportunity: two homes on identical footprints, approached with entirely different design philosophies.

It serves as a reminder that there’s no single formula for good design—just thoughtful interpretation, careful craftsmanship, and the ability to let the landscape tell its own story.
