With a young family and a love of entertaining, the brief was clear: create an outdoor environment that supports an active, social way of living. The existing landscape and pool felt undersized and disconnected from the surrounding garden, so the project began with a fresh plan that considered sightlines, movement, and how different zones would be used across the day.
A new pool and surrounding landscape structure were designed to sit comfortably within the property’s proportions. The goal was to make the outdoor space feel like a destination, not just an add-on, with areas that encourage everything from casual afternoons outside to larger gatherings with friends.
A resort-style garden only works when the bones are right. This landscape construction approach focused on scale, balance, and a sense of arrival. Planting beds were shaped to frame the pool, soften edges, and guide the eye through the garden, while allowing open space for play and entertaining.
The pool now holds its place within the setting, giving the garden a strong centrepiece and a clear reason to step outside. Around it, the landscape was rebuilt to feel immersive and layered, so the experience is as much about atmosphere as it is about function.
To bring immediate presence, the garden was reignited with generous planting and additional palms craned into place. A striking Chamaerops humilis was introduced as a feature, adding strong form and scale that suits the property and reinforces the island getaway mood.
As the planting settles in, the garden continues to grow into itself, with layers that will only become richer over time. The result is a captivating outdoor setting that feels established, inviting, and built for the way this family lives.
